McKay![]() ![]() I wrote up some thoughts about why you should consider NoSQL vs. I still stand by our decision to lead with MongoDB for sure, but I understand that different projects require different DBs.Īs we work through adding SQL-based database support, we've learned a lot that has reinforced our original decision, but also spotlighted where SQL can shine as well. So we're adding additional database support. However, lots of engineers are asking for Postgres, and there are certainly valid reasons for them doing so. We decided on MongoDB early on because we made our own decisions based on project requirements. It's important to make your own decisions on tech based on the requirements of your own projects. That, in specific, has always been fascinating to me. What year is it? If I want to be relevant on Twitter, do I need to go catch up on PHP? Not today.Īnother super trendy Twitter thing is around the resurgence and apparent blind preference of SQL databases. One day it's serverless, the next day everyone hates serverless. I can tell what the "tech trend" of the day is by looking at the first 10 tweets. ![]()
